One part award-winning rap artist, the other market-busting babycare mogul — Casyo ‘Krept’ Johnson has seen huge success in both arenas. Although better known as one half of the rap duo Krept & Konan, famed for their clever wordplay and record-breaking achievements, he is also the co-founder of the natural infant toiletries brand Nala’s Baby.
Established with his ex-partner Sasha Ellese Gilbert and named after their daughter, Nala, the company has swiftly become one of the UK’s fastest-growing baby product brands. Now in its third year, revenue has surged from £1.8 million to £5.5 million, a 205% growth, with one Nala’s Baby product sold every 14 seconds. Continued growth is projected for next year, valuing the company between £30 to £40 million.
Beyond Nala’s Baby, Krept has built a diverse business portfolio, leveraging his entrepreneurial drive across industries. In early 2025, he and Konan opened Saveways, a 15,000-square-foot supermarket in their hometown of Croydon designed to serve the needs of the local Black and minority community. Krept has also emerged as an investor, backing ventures in food, beverage, beauty, and real estate. He holds a stake in SYPS — a new drinks brand founded by fellow rapper Aitch — and has invested in Vegan Shack, a plant-based restaurant chain.
In music, Krept and Konan recently released a new album, the critically acclaimed Young Kingz II. Their debut studio album The Long Way Home shot to No.2 on the UK charts, and they scored mainstream hits like the Top 10 single Freak of the Week. Krept and Konan both received a British Empire Medal in 2020 for services to music and community.
